Our organization ( Youth and
Community Development Network) was founded in 2012 after Myanmar general
election in order to promote, educate and empower youth in sustainable and
community organizing, democratic leadership, land rights, human rights and
community development in the whole
Myanmar. YCDN activated some youth capacity building program and
community
development program such as the microfinance project, village site
development ( Making Road and making bridge, repair public lake that can
provide drinking water for people in rural area) and then
capacity building training for the youth such as English language training, information
sharing workshop, land rights workshop in Rethedaung township, Rakhine state.

Rathedaung township is the most undeveloped area in Rakhine state is such
the most undeveloped state after Chin in Myanmar. And then so lack of NGOs and
Civil based Organizations which standing in Developmental and Educational
program. That’s why most of youth don’t have any kind of knowledge in how to
promote their education for their future. Just understand to leave their native
land for other neighbor countries such as Thailand and Malaysia, etc with the
brokers because nobody to share information in education and how to develop their
community by using their sources, skills and knowledge. There will be unattainable
to rebuild in developed community, in our country If we lose the young people
or future presidents the day by the day or without active young people. That’s
why we founded this network to promote the youth who can lead in sustainable
democracy and peace in Myanmar. We, the founders have been working in Civil
Based Organization, CSOs, Political organizations and NGOs that based in Thai –
Myanmar border since 2002.
